How to remove pet hair from a car

Car fabric collects hair in seat bolsters, seatbelt slots, and floor mats. A compact reusable tool is useful for a short reset before a trip. It will not deep-clean carpets the way a vacuum does.

Where to start

Work on compatible automotive fabric only: many cloth seats, sturdy floor mats, and fabric headliners that do not pill. Test a hidden patch first, especially on older or aftermarket covers. Do not use the tool on leather, Alcantara-style delicate suedes, silk, or loosely woven cloth.

A simple car pass

1. Take out floor mats if they lift out easily so hair does not migrate back onto the seats.
2. Use the outer brush on broad seat areas with light, directional strokes.
3. Switch to the nested insert for seams, the gap beside the center console, and around seatbelt receivers.
4. Clear hair from the tool by hand before it packs into the fabric face.
5. Nest the insert back inside the outer brush and store it in the door pocket or glove box.

If the car has a lot of sand or grit, vacuum first. Grit on a fabric face can scratch or grind when you drag a tool across it.

Limits
